We love chicken caesar salad on Sundays nights: it's quick and easy after a day of serving and singing. I've recently started making these homemade croutons, which my husband adores, and I can't figure out why I never thought of doing this before! Enjoy!
- Baguette or sourdough bread (or any type of bread scraps you happen to have hanging around your refrigerator). Easily change to gluten free by substituting gluten free bread.
- 1 tbsp butter
- Garlic salt (I love the one from Trader Joe's that comes in its own grinder)
Cut bread into small squares, about 1/2 inch or so. Melt butter in a frying pan. Brown the bread in the butter over medium heat, sprinkling with garlic salt. Stir occasionally and cook until it has reach your desired crispness. Remove from heat and add to your favorite salad!
